Tata Tea announced the second edition of Soccer Stars – Tata Tea Jaago Re Soccer Stars on November 25, 2008
The huge response for the first edition prompted Tata Tea to bring the Soccer stars tournament again, this time in a much larger scale
The announcement, which was done by Ms Sangeeta Talwar, Executive Director – Marketing, Tata Tea Limited during a press conference in Mumbai, had Baichung Bhutia, Captain of the Indian football team, and Steve Dias, vice-captain of the Indian Football team, to wish the teams across the country luck.
Rickin Dang and Siddarth Singh, two of the winners of the first edition of Soccer Stars, were also present at the press conference to handover the plate cup to Ms. Talwar that they had won during the Arsenal International Soccer Festival in UK. It was a memorable afternoon for the boys as they met two of the heroes of Indian football.
It was also a great moment for the tournament as all the players of Arsenal sent their good luck wishes to the participants of the tournament in the form of a signed T-shirt.

Ms. Talwar highlighted during the event the rational behind the tournament, which is part of Tata Tea’s enhanced focus on the issues that concern the youth of this country.
The all Indian tournament, which is in association with Arsenal FC, UK’s premier football club, is for school students aged 10-15 and played across 4 regions and 10 cities – Calicut, Bangalore, Goa, Mumbai, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Shillong.
Tata Tea will also be associated with Football Players Association (FPA) for which Baichung Bhutia is the President. Exposure to the FPA players will also help strengthen the participants’ belief in football in India.
