Zonal finals at Kolkata,  4th & 5th April, 2009.
 
     
 

The 2 finalists from Kolkata - Nimta High School & Basudebpur Palli Hyittasadhani High School with Chief Guest Mr.T Ireland– Principal ,St.James’ School, Jamshid Nassiri – Head Scout, & Mr. Saurav Chatterjee – Director, High Life Management.

  The zonal finals of Tata Tea Jaago Re Soccer Stars were held in Kolkata on April 4th and 5th at St.James School.
     
  More than 69 teams participated in the tournament fighting to win the zonal finals.
     
  Nimta High School won over Basudevpurpalli High School by 1-0.
     
  Nimta High School will now play in the national finals to be held in Kolkata mid this year.
 
   

The Chosen 3 - L-R, –Biswajit Sardar (Jatia H.S) , Rennedy Singh – India Vice Captain Biswajit Malik (Basudebpur Palli ) & Souvik Das(Jonepur H.S).

Some of the players who came to lime light were
     
  Abhishek Mitra from St. James School was recognized as Kolkata’s most valuable player.
     
  Mohammed Faroq Ali of Bishnupur Sir Romesh Institution was declared the best goalkeeper.
     
  Abhirup Das from Nimta High School came out as the highest goal scorer during the zonal matches.

  Souvik Das from Jonepur High School, Biswajit Sardar from Jatia High School and Biswajit Mallick from Basudevpurpalli High School were selected from Kolkata for coaching by Arsenal coaches at Kolkata.
     
  Jamshid Nassiri, Head Scout, observed the tournament for the most promising kid showing exceptional talent in the game.
